I'm really glad I fell in love in Chicago.
I remember when I decided that I wanted Chicago to be my home. I was 13. My parents took my and my sister to the city to shop and explore. I remember feeling more alive than I had ever felt before. I loved the impossibly tall buildings and busy people lining the streets. The energy was incredible to me.
I decided then that one day I would make Chicago my home. At 13 I didn't quite know what that would look like, but I knew it was my goal. I look back now and see how God was working in my young heart to bring me to the place where I needed to be. When I decided to go to college in this city, I didn't realize that my life would be forever changed. I would grow from a teenage girl into a woman. I would learn more than I thought was possible to learn. Best of all, I would meet a man who would change the course of my life. I'm so thankful for Chicago.
